The Power Management Systems Business of Spectrum Control, Inc. is looking to expand our product capabilities through the hiring of an experienced embedded systems developer. The person filling this role would be a critical link in creating the functional performance of our advanced product designs for the industrial, commercial, and government markets. The successful candidate will work with hardware engineers, marketing, and customers to develop firmware for embedded microprocessor based products. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of three years experience and the ability to manage outside contractors so that many pieces of an operating system can be created simultaneously and then merged together. The individual must be able to work independently or with a group and have a focus on working toward specified deadlines.
Our ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
- BSEE, BSCE, or equivalent
- UML Modeling tools
- Microcontroller Programming Experience, preferably with Freescale Controller Family
- C/C++
- Knowledge of Networking Protocols (TCP/IP, 802.11)
- Experience with Embedded Software/Firmware/Hardware Design
- Knowledge of RTOS (Real Time Operating Systems)
- Knowledge of network security methods
- Board Level Debugging Skills
- Capable self-starter that is comfortable in a team-based environment.

The Spectrum Power Management Systems business of Spectrum Control, Inc. is a well-respected manufacturer of military power solutions, power strips, circuit protection systems and power distribution solutions. We are seeking a Product Marketing Specialist to join our growing State College, PA team.
The Product Marketing Specialist will support the business unit by updating and managing the web site, preparing presentations for customers, designing and preparing product marketing literature, creating product user manuals and coordinating trade show events. The role also fills in as a back up for our customer service organization.

The Power Management Systems Business of Spectrum Control, Inc. is looking to expand our product capabilities through the hiring of a Product Design Engineer to join our dynamic State College, PA team.
The individual filling this role will be a critical link in creating the functional performance of our advanced power product designs for the industrial, commercial and government markets. The successful candidate will create & maintain product design specifications consistent with customer and market requirements while working with component suppliers, quality assurance and process and manufacturing associates to achieve reliable, durable, high quality product and realistically achieving cost target goals. The individual will work with suppliers and our manufacturing organization to build prototype and production parts and also work closely with test and engineering techs to validate the product's capability.
Our ideal candidate will possess the following:
- BSME and at least 5 years related work experience
- Ability to effectively communicate technical material
- Experience with electronics packaging, preferred
- Experience with 3D modeling (Inventor or Solidworks), preferred
- Experience with thermal management solutions, preferred
- Experience with sheet metal and machined metal fabrication, preferred
- Experience with military specifications, preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills
- Good PC Skills
